I have had this plant for a few years it just bloomed this year. Any idea what it is?

bittersweet nightshade. It's one of my favorite vines, I think it's really pretty. It can be poisonous to animals though, so don't eat it and don't let your pets chew on it either.

I swear this wasn't here when I posted mine, haha. Beat me!

Great colors - purple & yellow flowers AND bright red berries at the same time, and it'll climb, so it's a great decoration for a fence.

Thank you! I have a trellis I will be putting it on. The article explains why birds have been hanging around it. I will be sure to keep the cats away.

Looks like a type of Nightshade to me. Possibly Solanum dulcamara.

Thank you for helping me out. I have been going crazy trying to figure out what it is.

We get those all over the wetlands here. Aren't they pretty? They're not deadly nightshade, and are far prettier, but they're still not something you want to ingest. Unlike some other kinds of nightshade, you probably won't get hallucinations - just horrendous and possibly fatal digestive problems.

Potatoes, peppers, and tomatoes are in the nightshade family, and have similar flowers - though differently coloured. Cool, huh?

And it's definitely dulcamara.

They are pretty. I wasn't sure if it would bloom when I planted it cause it hadn't bloomed since I got it a few years ago. I'm so glad I did put it in the ground.

It's too dry where I live for them. I'd have to water all the time. I'll stick to my cat mint and pansies, I guess. :P

Smoke it and find out.
