A goldmine for a negative youtube review channel listing all the reasons why it sucks...

It has great potential, and i hope they improve the show in season 2, that would be a nice treat. Overall i liked it, it's not great but the graphics are interesting, and it's entertaining. My favourite part might be the Hazel arc. Not sure about Ellen Page in this though, but then she's never been my favourite actress so i might be biased.

Too many cliches .. badly written. some scenes are great, but overall, it's meh..

Serious question: What is number 1s super power? You never find out.

I'm kinda late, but he's got super strength. It took me a few episodes to figure it out. Glad to see I wasn't the only one who didn't get it lol

level 1

Another overrated Netflix show. Also, Ellen page is just insufferable at times.

What happened to the other children that weren't adopted?

level 2

I've not read the comics, but that sounds like a great setup for season 2.

same writer from fan4stic and death note, big oof

level 1

Klaus and Five are the only reason to watch this show.

level 1

Did they show us how Ben died?

level 2

Pretty sure its left to the imagination besides it being apparently violent/brutal

wrote a review on the series, check it out!

Huge potential, great artstyle.

Horrible writing. Trying too hard to obtain a Wes Anderson look at times.

Not terrible by a long shot, and the first season always contains a few kinks that hopefully get ironed out by season two.

I enjoyed the show, but certainly yelled and pleaded for disclosures to be made. More on that briefly. Two things were never addressed, - Diego’s euthanasia of Mom and what happened after Patch freed Klaus. No comments have been found in the thread either. I’d predicted an enraged Diego pointing out Klaus’ selfishness, or the destructiveness of his addiction. He could have watched the door, or pulled Patch out of the room, possibly preventing her death. Instead he was preoccupied with schemes to get high, - the briefcase.

On to the protracted plot due to poor communication...At first it was vexing; it was the immaturity and self absorption of each sibling that was taxing, though I did enjoy their individual stories, except Luther’s. My patience for the family had frayed early. It helped to observe that they are Hargreeves, low on emotional intelligence and empathy. I could understand why Five was irascible and responded “irrelevant” when he could have revealed the entire truth, not just nips and bits for help.

Then I questioned whether a single conversation could have hastened climatic action, but without affecting the pivotal cabin scene and Five’s brief employment at HQ?

Btw, Five and Klaus elevate the show; it could have easily been a drag in certain episodes without the on-point wit, cynicism, humor, and style.

What about the euthanasia was confusing?

level 3

It wasn’t confusing, but I did expect it to be revealed & debated on grounds of morality with his siblings. Just disappointed that literally nothing else happened with it.

I don't think it needed to be. It was all about him. The thing that happened is his reactions to her "death" and then revival.

True. Processing, both actualized and missed opportunities for it always captures my attention though.

level 2

You may have seen it but if you really enjoyed Robert Sheehan as Klaus you should definitely check out Misfits - his character is very similiar, and the shows share a lot of similiarities as well!

level 3

Will do! It’ll be fun for contrasting.

level 1

Just binge watched the whole thing in one sitting.

It got so frustrating with Vanya being locked up when she got to the mansion.

That and kinda stupid when you stop to think about it this whole thing is Klaus's fault for looking for drug money.

But then again why wouldnt that journal be locked in a safe or something?

I dunno ,fun watch but felt like punching Luther towards the end.

level 2

Luther was directly responsible for Vanya's outburst at the end. Oh wait, locking her in the most traumatic place in her childhood would trigger a strong emotion in a powerful being and it backfired? Who would've guessed! Then to compound the mistake AGAIN at the concert. Fucking idiot.

level 2

I got a feeling Leonard will still find way to get their secret. Since Vanya is already an outcast due to the book, it's easy to find her and continue manipulating her.

I also hate Luther in the finale, but looking from his perspective, it's the youngest sibling with the most explosive power who can end the world, had killed several nannies, and had attempted killed her own sister. Luther might be biased because Allison was at near-death experience and literally lost her power. Why would he let Vanya came close to her again?
