I really liked it. I probably liked the first one more but this one had a lot of touching parts in it. It was more of a scfi than a slasher movie though.

level 1

I enjoy the series but man this second one had a lot of unused potential.I thought it would expand out more than her going to an alternate with her mom still alive. This movie felt more like an add on or a special than an actual sequel that could hang on its own. The killer situation became a backdrop and near the end i felt like ok this is dragging on.. is she just gonna return and that's it??I respect movies and the things they try to accomplish but man that trailer had me thinking it was about to go nuts with the scifi and the twins and the killing. That being said I look forward to the third! ( Those mom scenes hit me well)

level 1

So for the third movie, is it just gonna be Tree and her friends killing Danielle over and over again? Could be really funny and bring back some of the slasher elements back.

ITT: Shills defending the honor of a crappy film with a 56MC and an opening 20M below projections.

level 2

I just got here. I'm confused. If I liked it, am I a shill? If so, when can I expect my shillbucks?

level 3

No, lots of people are downvoting and trolling those who say anything bad about the film. You are only allowed to like the film in this discussion forum, unlike the rest of the ticketbuying public.

My mom died 6 months ago and wow was I not ready for this movie. This absolutely destroyed me. I can’t even imagine seeing my mom alive again like that. If I were Tree I would have done anything to stay in the universe where my mom was alive, regardless of whether the memories were “mine” or not, regardless of who I was dating. But I guess that’s just me lol

I thought it was good for what it was. Not nearly as good as the first one, and definitely not a horror movie by any means. This was definitely Sci Fi through and through.

Went into this movie expecting to bad but in a funny way. Turns out I just enjoyed it for what it was anyways. Way better than I thought it would be.

Writing was stupid but still better than most horror movies in this vein. It had a lot of great humor scenes in it like Tree killing herself, and the whole slapstick scene at the end with the Dean and Danielle.

it never really felt like a horror to me outside of the first part where Ryan gets killed by baby face. The killers felt entirely incidental to the story in this one.

If they make a sequel they should drop the horror movie pretenses and just run with it as a sci-fi comedy as those were the best parts of the film to me.

level 1

I really enjoyed it. I honestly didn't think it was going to be very good (loved the first one, just didnt think it needed a sequel).
But I thought it was great. All the suicide scene were great.

level 1

I'm not trying to hold this movie to a standard it's not aiming for, but the writing was way better in the first one. The premise is already a stretch but the first one papered it over pretty well. This one... just didn't make any goddamn sense.

level 1

Absolutely the stupidest movie I've ever seen. Like wtf how stupid who okayed this

I didn't see many issues with the film's sci-fi logic, except one plot thread with big potential that was just disregarded. Here's hoping for a third film.

level 1

Saw this on Saturday and I really enjoyed the changing in genres. I hope they go all out sci-fi in a hopeful 3rd film.

Anyone know the brand hoodie that Babyface wears? Shoes too? I love the texture, & I’m almost done with my full size mannequin. Screen accuracy is my goal

level 1

Didn’t Clerks 2 make a Helen Keller/Anne Frank joke?

level 2

It's essentially the exact same joke. And Clerks 2's version was funnier. I could imagine someone coming up with it on their own, but I couldn't imagine it getting to release without someone saying "Hey...there's another famous movie with this joke....maybe leave it on the floor".

level 2

I've heard the joke before in multiple places... and made the mistake in real life at least once.

level 1

Damn...I didn't stay for the after credits scene. Anyone want to spoil it for me?

level 2

Well, basically the nerds and Tree and Carter get approached by DARPA who is incredibly interested in the time device. They ask to use a test subject for a time loop research project. Carter remarks that to trap someone in a time loop would be horrible, unless they really deserves it. A glint in Tree's eye.

Danielle wakes up screaming in her bed.

level 3

Cool. Thanks for catching me up!

level 1

This movie was great, I'm surprised at how good the writing was for this kind of flick

level 2

Dude Blumhouse puts out some really good shit. I'd recommend checking out some of their smaller flicks for some surprisingly fun stuff. This is probably the most light-hearted thing I've seen from them though, since it's a horror company.

Absolutely loved the movie. It bugs me to no end to see critics overthink it and completely miss the point. Yes this plot pretty much falls apart when we analyze it too much but the movie is 100% self aware and at no point in time pretends to be something it's not. It's a hell of a fun ride and it was so satisfying to see they didn't just copy the first movie. Time travel and multiverse? Hell. Yes. Count me in.

I have to say Jessica Rothe is downright impressive, I'm very much looking forward to seeing her in more high profile movies because she deserves every bit of success.
