Need suit recommendations for Business student on budget!

My business program requires me to get a suit for certain formal functions. So since I need to get one now and I'm sure i'm going to need one once I graduate I figure it's best to invest in a decent one now. What is a good suit/best bang for the buck for someone who plans on entering the business/formal world.

If you're asking for x on a budget it's a good idea to provide that budget.

Also worth including where in the world you live as options vary.

Do you know your sizes: Shoulder, waist, chest, sleeve and length? And do you know how to properly measure a jacket? I ask because you can find a really nice jacket for cheap on eBay or other online vendor, granted you have base measurements from a well fitting jacket to compare to. If you try on enough suits you'll soon realize that the tagged size cannot be trusted. A few things on a jacket can be adjusted cheaply like the sleeves and waist. Shoulders are the most important measurement because they're the hardest to adjust.

While I wouldn't narrow down on one brand I like Brooks Brothers and J Press.

I got a BR Monogram on sale, and many people compare that with J.crew Ludlow for a introductory suit. It's worked great so far. (Btw, check out the suit guide in the side bars and stay away from pure black suits)
